Terry Rooney is the head baseball coach at the University of Central Florida.[1] Rooney was previously an assistant coach at LSU and Notre Dame under head coach Paul Mainieri.
Rooney replaced longtime coach Jay Bergman in 2009. On June 21, 2010, Rooney signed a four-year contract extension with the university, making him the Knights head baseball coach through 2014.[2] In 2011, Rooney led the Knights to a 38–21 (12–12) season and their first NCAA Tournament appearance under his leadership.[3]
